CJ (Kate) Savage
Dr CJ (Kate) Savage is an equine internal medicine specialist. She has contributed to and headed up numerous research projects and is widely published (see CJ Savage). She is interested in sport horses and their health, competitive viability and welfare in competition. She worked as an equine internal medicine specialist for all teams at the Beijing Olympics. Kate also has a great interest in the welfare of all equids and has been board member, programme chair and the first female President of the World Equine Veterinary Association (WEVA). She is a board member of the Victorian Racing Integrity Board (VRIB) and is a consultant to the Tasmanian Racing Integrity Commissioner. She has recently been placed on the Greyhound Racing Transition Working Group in Tasmania. Consequently, she spends her time consulting and engaging in racing integrity matters with a strong push for the consideration of equine and canine welfare in the Australian racing industries.
