Natasha Hamilton
Dr Natasha Hamilton is the Director of the Racing Australia Equine Genetics Research Centre. She was awarded her PhD in equine genetics from the University of Sydney in 2005. Before starting at Racing Australia, she was as a senior lecturer at the University of Sydney Faculty of Veterinary Science. Her research focuses on the genetics of health, disease and soundness in racehorses, development of methods to detect prohibited gene doping, and welfare of retired racehorses. Natasha is Chair of the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA) Gene Doping Control Subcommittee and International Horse Sports Confederation (IHSC) Gene Doping Expert Committee. She is also a member of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Gene and Cell Doping Expert Advisory Group, the IFHA Advisory Council on Equine Prohibited Substances and Practices, and the International Stud Book Committee (ISBC).
